SCRAP Zip it up workshop

PhotobucketLast Saturday I assisted Dorothy Yuki at SCRAP on a zipper workshop. (One of my favorite places ever!- SCRAP) Here are the results of the students work. It was so much fun and everyone made a lot of wonderful brooches. We had been making them for months and giving them away as gifts. www.scrap-sf.org

More workshops to come!

In Japan Seeking Inspiration

I am in Kochi, Japan, with my family.  I am keeping my eyes, ears and mind open for inspiration to bring back home with me.  I hope to have a lot to share.

This is a centerpiece made by Dorothy Yuki of discarded maps and atlases with dried plants and corrugated paper.

Bethany House Foreign Cinema Fund raiser Centerpieces

My piece is a repurposed dictionary and novel cut and folded and folded...and air plants that lie around it.
Bethany Center which houses Ruth's Table will hopefully raise $ for it.
I made them and will not see them again...going home with someone who hopefully bids on them.
Thought you arty friends would want to see these.  It was fun to have an excuse to play and create.

Welcome to my blog!

PhotobucketHello Everyone,
Welcome to my new blog. After many name changes and design changes I am ready to blog as the Artful reCrafter... I have enjoyed so many art, craft and other blogs over the years and I have been wanting to start my own blog as well for a long time. I hope this will be a journal of my work, ideas and inspiration and the finds of the week. I  hope you will enjoy it!
This blog will journal the recrafting that I am always doing, my workshops I am giving and fun and interesting things I see or read about..
Many thanks to my friends who helped me with this blog in various ways....Egmont, Dorothy, Leslie, Kim and Heather.

This blogging is new to me so I will start slowly and hope you check back in and see how I am doing!
